Who we are.

We are an American family, descendents of six siblings, three brothers and three sisters who grew up in Oklahoma just after statehood.  These were the children of Thomas Jefferson 'T. J.' Martin and Adeline 'Adda' Keffer Martin, who lived most of their adult lives in the Green Valley area of Woods, County, Oklahoma.  The children had a half sister, who was the daughter of T. J. by a previously deceased wife.

Our forbears were pioneers, having progressed from Rushville, Indiana to near Springfield, Illinois, to Richland and then Sedalia, Missouri, to Stafford, Kansas, and then to Oklahoma.  T. J. and Adda are buried in the Pleasant View Cemetary near Dacoma, Woods Co., Oklahoma.  Read more at:  http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Martin-6633.  Through the marvels of technology, we now have evidence -- though not via independently verified research -- that the record of Jonathan's family of Early Americans dates back to Thomas Martin, born in 1637 in Charlestown, MA (Boston).  Read more by following the Family Tree at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Martin-6633

The siblings began meeting in an annual family reunion, typically held on Labor Day Weekend, as early as the 1950s.  As the siblings passed away one by one, the fervor of the reunion waned until . . . a first reconstructed reunion experience in 2009!  At that time, the family chose to meet during alternate years in Branson, MO.

Today, members of the family are spread far and wide in many locations across the U.S. and are actively involved in a wide variety of professional pursuits.  We also communicate via a Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/146047875304/?fref=ts

While we have no direct evidence that the family roots eminate from Ireland, the Martin crest would have no doubt been known to previous generations of our family.
